Always record a handover video before leaving your rented home.

It takes just a few minutes—but it can protect your security deposit and help avoid unnecessary disputes.

Before handing over the keys, record:

Every room

Furniture & appliances

Electricity & water meter readings

Walls, doors, windows, and any existing damage

If your security deposit is deducted without a valid reason:

Ask for a written explanation.

Save all chats, photos, videos, and payment proofs.

If required, approach the local police or the appropriate rental dispute authority.

Share your experience with Flat & Flatmates to help create awareness and protect other tenants.

A few minutes of recording today can save weeks of stress tomorrow.

Stay informed. Stay protected.
